At Detroit Airport McNamara Terminal has more comfortable sleeping spot than the Evans Terminal(North terminal). McNamara Terminal Concourse A  next to gate A8 and Concourse B next to gate B21 have padded comfortable seating available. The games room located near gate D14 also has some comfortable seating available.

McNamara Terminal gate areas have many seats available but most of them have armrests which makes them exactly not sleeping-friendly. The far end of Concourse B near Gate B18 has comfortable furniture and is good for sleeping. This area of the airport is usually quieter than other places of the airport. L-shaped couches are available in this area.

Evans Terminal of the airport does not have sufficient comfortable sleeping spots. In this terminal sleeping on the carpeted floors could be a good idea. Most areas of this terminal remain quiet at night. Especially if you sleep on the landside or pre-security area. In this area near the baggage claim downstairs has a quiet area with a quiet environment.

Do keep in mind that Detroit Airport remains cold and very noisy at night. So if you want to sleep in this airport then don’t forget to bring a warm sweater or travel blanket or sleeping mat and noise canceling earplugs etc.
