Sleeping In Sydney Airport | Where To Sleep In SYD Airport

Sydney Airport(SYD) stays closed for a few hours(11:00 pm to 2:30 am) at night. So if you are in the public area or landside area of the domestic or international terminals. However, if you have a ticket for the flight of next morning then the security staff will let you sleep overnight at the waiting area located in Terminal 1.

Most of the seats in the waiting area for layover passengers are poorly seated with very few benches. Sydney Airport has a decent amount of seating and most of these seating have armrests. So if you sleep in the daytime then you have to sleep on the floor area. Come prepared with a sleeping bag or mat and blanket for extra warmth. Also, don’t forget to bring noise-canceling headphones or earplugs and eye masks.

Update: In a recent update we have information that the airport authority won’t let you sleep at the airport terminal, instead they will allow you to sleep in the drop-off zone of Terminal 3. Come prepared with a sleeping bag or mat or a blanket as the area will be cold. Also, try to bring noise-canceling headphones and an eye mask.

Sydney Airport Sleeping Pods

Sydney Airport does not have traditional sleeping pods or cabins available at the airport terminal area. So sleeping overnight on a sleeping pod while waiting for your flight is not possible for you.
