Helsinki Airport(HEL) is known for quality staff, clean facilities and good security. The airport terminals stay open 24 hours a day and have many high-quality services.
So, if your flight is delayed or you have an early flight in the morning then you can rest overnight at the HEL Airport terminals area to avoid extra expenses.
HEL Airport offers many options for sleeping on both airside and landside areas. It has many armrests free benches, and reclining chairs throughout the terminals.
Sleeping In Helsinki Airport
At Helsinki Airport you will find more comfortable sleeping options in the departure halls than in the public area. So, if you can access the security area before it gets close then you may have found some options. For this, you can call your airline to check whether you can go there early.
Near gate 31 Kainuu Lounge you will find some reclining chairs and the floor area is carpeted. Terminal 2 airside area remains quiet at night where you can sleep on many armrest-free comfortable benches.
In the presecurity or landside area, you will find many benches near the check-in desks. This place fills up quickly so try to grab one early. Overall not all the gate areas have enough seating for sleeping. And if you don’t mind sleeping on the floor area then go for it.
Come prepared with a sleeping bag or mat, blanket or hoodie and noise-canceling headphones or earplugs for comfortable sleeping. Although the airport area stays quiet at night it is worth bringing one in case you need it.
